End of LOST: Like Going Through a Bad Breakup.

So Lost ends tonight. I have invested 6 years of my life in this (show is not adequate) phenomena, since the time I was 15 I have spent one night a week devoted to watching the show and the other 6 days researching the theories behind the show and thinking up my own. The show taught me everything I need to know in life, from how to be a con artist and give people humiliating nicknames, to the facts of life in animal cages. It was even educational in the Physics department teaching me all about electromagnetism; Not to mention all the literary aspects of the show, what with Sawyer reading Watership Down, Desmond waiting to read Our Mutual Friend, and Jacob reading Flannery O’conner. I could go on extolling LOST’s genius, but it’s almost 6, which means that the LOST interviews before the finale are about to begin. I’ll talk to you after the glorious finale and after the 3 alternate endings on Jimmy Kimmel, so guys, I will be watching with you all in heart. Don’t be afraid to cry. It’s only natural when your family passes away. I mean I did cook a round steak dinner for this big occasion tonight.

Oh cool, they just mentioned lost on the local Baton Rouge, Louisiana news. It’s such a big deal.

Just Do Something

Okay, so I am so dunzo with secular education it’s not even funny, I’ve been in Panama City all week soaking up the Sun, and the Son … of God! and both were great. Played some intense rounds of Pool Game, missed my baby kitten, J.R., and hit up the Nike outlet like nobody’s business.

For a real good time go into a mirror maze. trippy, especially if you hit up the oxygen bar first. Another great thing about this week? Hitting up Seaside and their fantastic little record store. Got some new albums:

Avi Buffalo

Fool’s Gold

Lissie

Pavement Greatest Hits

Juan Maclean (haven’t listened to him yet).

And finally, I am in love with the Beautiful African Band: The Very Best. Their Album “Warm Heart of Africa” is out now and the song “Get it Up” (Help!) is amazing!!!  I recommend you get down.

Little Old Lady Cat Life

So I have been away for a while due to wretched exams. I am ever so sorry for my absence on the social scene. BUT, I am now back and ready to live life like there’s no … rules, homework, or grades to be kept up!  I thought I flunked everything, but I’ve done okay thus far. Proudest moment of my college life? I wrote an impromptu paper in class on Flannery O’Conner for my final and my professor sent me an email telling me how great it was and how he had never read a Flannery O’Conner story that way before and that it would surely “shade his future lectures on the story.” How awesome is that? sorry, not boasting. Just SUPER excited seeing as I’m an English major with no good papers to show for it.  Anyway, so MANY of my great friends graduated yesterday and to them I would like to say Congratulations, be happy, and as Jonsi would say, “Go Do.”

So basically, I’ve decided, along with my good friend Cameron McBride, who needs men?  Let’s just prematurely (by age 23 at least) become old cat ladies together who bake and dance to 40’s on 4 in the kitchen while we cook. We will proceed to acquire so many little critters that our quaint little abode will be a small petting zoo. Our good friend William Fair has agreed to marry us both.  Being married to us requires only living in a small guest house at the back of our property and feeding our animals.  He can even come and visit with us on Saturdays if we’re not busy.  That’s about all of the job requirement, and seeing a he is a Cabana Boy this summer, I think he will have plenty of practice in serving women.  Cameron and I will the proceed to live our lives as cat ladies by swing dancing, playing with our cats, cooking, eating, listening to big band music, being slightly hospitable on saturdays, and watching old movies and musicals while we eat our delicious food. Doesn’t that just sound like the life? Let that luscious steak marinate for a while and get back to moi.

Side note, saw Back Up Plan tonight, and if I didn’t want to bear my own children and adopt foreign babies before, I sure do now!

and this is what I love.
